Welcoming Class of 2023!

This week, Honor Council has welcomed the class of 2023, beginning with the first-year welcome address on August 21 at the field hockey field. Amelia Steinbach, president of Honor Council, advised the first years to act honorably in their classes as well as beyond classroom walls, and to uphold the Community Standard in all endeavors. First-years signed the Community Standard after the welcome address.

Tonight on August 22 at DPAC, all first-year students will hear Tommy Orange, author of There There, the Duke Common Experience read, speak about the novel and his experiences. Three first-year students will be awarded prizes for a Common Experience essay contest, hosted by Duke Honor Council.
